Held annually under the patronage of HRH Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum gathers climate leaders to discuss best practice, highlight innovation, evaluate progress and drive forward substantive action in the race against climate change.
At last year’s SGI forum Saudi Arabia made a commitment to the world. The SGI Forum 2022, held in tandem with COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh, will reconvene allies from across the climate ecosystem under the theme ‘from ambition to action’. Speakers will highlight the steps taken over the past year towards achieving Saudi Arabia’s ambitious national targets as well as laying out the roadmap for the coming years.

The SGI Forum will bring together government, business and institutional leaders, as well as experts, to showcase the tangible progress made towards SGI targets.
Curated around six content pillars, the Forum will also be a platform for forging partnerships crucial to accelerate progress toward Saudi Arabia's climate goals.
The SGI Gallery is an immersive space that showcases the action, innovation and investment within Saudi Arabia's green transition. Located next to COP27 in in Sharm El Sheikh, the Gallery is open to COP27 attendees 7-18 November.
Visitors will get the chance to discover the multitude of climate action initiatives in progress across Saudi Arabia, learn about new technologies being developed and speak directly to subject matter experts working to achieve the Kingdom's climate ambitions.
The 2022 editions of the Saudi Green Initiative Forum and the Middle East Green Initiative Summit will take place in November in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, in tandem with COP27.

The MGI Summit is first-of-its-kind regional dialogue on climate, bringing together leaders from across the MENA region and beyond.
The first MGI Summit was hosted by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in Riyadh on October 25, 2021. This event saw leaders in attendance agreeing to work together to tackle climate change across the region.
This year, the MGI Summit is convening leaders in Sharm El Sheikh, in tandem with COP27. Saudi Arabia will do its part as a G20 economy and significant contributor to climate action to make sure that the climate solutions needed in the region are considered on a global scale.

The Saudi Green Initiative Forum is an invitation-only event, but due to the large public interest in attending this year’s event, the proceedings will be live streamed on our YouTube Channel.
There will also be an exhibition, the SGI Gallery, that will remain open for the duration of COP27. This will give more people a chance to speak to subject matter experts and learn about the progress towards Saudi Arabia’s climate action goals firsthand.
